The Hip Hop came to Portugal in the 80 to 94 and became very popular with Rapública disk, a compilation which highlighted Black Company, which reached broadcast on the radio with his song "Swim".
A peculiarity of rap in Portugal is that it is run mainly by descendants of African migrants, ie Afro - Portuguese.
But that popularity and strength of the early 90's was diluted to the point that the Hip Hop Tuga (as is also known) now has no media attention.
